Artful Christmas Weekend 2019
7th & 8th December , 10am – 4pm

Following a successful launch event in 2018 we are pleased to announce the return of Artful Christmas Weekend. This carefully curated event offers artists the opportunity to meet and sell directly to the public during the Christmas gift buying season.
Hillier Arboretum, near Romsey, is an attractive venue with a high footfall and an affluent customer base. Last year Artful Christmas Weekend attracted over 900 visitors. Public access and admission to the event is free, taking place in a prime location immediately at the entrance to the gardens.
Christmas craft workshops for all ages are also on offer as part of the event, making this a truly unique shopping experience for customers.
How to take part
We are looking for artists from a range of disciplines to take part in this event, including painting, printmaking, ceramics, woodwork, glass, textiles, sculpture (indoor & outdoor,) photography and metalwork.
We regret that we will not be showcasing jewellers work on this occasion, due to the ACJ’s Winter Jewels exhibition also at Hillier Arboretum on these dates.
The following criteria will be applied in selecting exhibitors for the event:
- Artists products must be their own original work and design.
- Artists products must demonstrate a high standard of presentation and use of materials.
- Pricing and product selection should be attractive to buyers.
- We will seek to represent a range of disciplines and styles, therefore limiting the number exhibitors from each discipline to give the best chance of selling to each stallholder.
There are two types of pitch available for this event. The corridor space at Hilliers is glass fronted so acts as a ‘shop window’ for the event, but the width of the space means it is not best suited to larger pieces. We have three stands available in this space and a further 16 pitches in the exhibition room. We direct the flow of visitors around the space to ensure that all pitches get good footfall.
- Exhibition Room – 1.8 x 1.5m – £160
- Corridor – 2.9 x 0.7m – £130
Please note – exhibitors must be able to participate for both days of the event.
Deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 5th July 2019.
All applications will be reviewed by a selection panel and successful applicants will be notified no later than 19th July. Selected exhibitors will be sent full event terms and conditions, and details for payment, and will be required to confirm and secure their place no later than 2nd September 2019. Exhibitors proof of public liability insurance will also be required upon selection.
